MI Climate Wise Business Program
Centrepolis Accelerator @ Lawrence Technological University partnered with Fresh Coast Climate Solutions to launch the MI Climate Wise Business Program. The Fresh Coast team offers complimentary technical assistance services to small and medium-sized businesses in southeast Michigan to advance their sustainability and climate-related goals and their economic competitiveness.
What we do
We work with businesses on one of the following four technical assistance areas: 1) Sustainability Readiness: We help businesses assess baselines and reduce environmental impacts from carbon, energy, biodiversity, water, and/or waste. 2) Program Development: We assist in developing sustainability programs that prioritize goals and reporting metrics for effective communication with stakeholders. 3) Alternative Materials: We analyze raw materials and operations and identify innovative solutions to foster circularity. 4) Electrification: We identify and recommend electrification improvements, like solar energy storage, heat pumps, and EV charging, to achieve net-zero energy, enhance air quality, and improve building resiliency.
How we do it
We work closely with management and team members at small and medium-sized businesses to assess operations, assess customer, regulatory, and other needs related to climate and sustainability, and prepare internal and public-facing technical and strategic assessments that advance the business’s sustainability and economic competitiveness.
Eligibility:
- Small or medium-sized businesses or not-for-profit organizations
- Headquarters, manufacturing, and/or other physical presence in southeast Michigan
- Climate/sustainability-related need(s) that match one of the four areas of technical assistance
Benefits
