
RESTART@LTU Program
RESTART@LTU — short for Retired Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Administrators, Researchers, and Teachers — is a partnership between the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and Lawrence Technological University (LTU). RESTART is also a partner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Training & Assessment Center (ITAC) program, which allows our clients to apply for up to $300,000 in federal funding for implementation assistance.
What we do
RESTART offers energy efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction assessments and services at no cost to qualified businesses and public institutions. Retired professionals provide these services with an average of 30 years of experience.
How we do it
Powered by a team of retired engineers, scientists, and industry experts, each bringing an average of 30 years of experience to help businesses and public institutions improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction. These seasoned professionals conduct in-depth assessments, offering expert insights and actionable recommendations at no cost.
Eligibility:
Must be a business located in Michigan with lessthan 500 full-time employees or an institution of any size.
How to Apply for:
Benefits
Offer technical support for energy waste reduction and sustainability initiatives to assist our clients in achieving their decarbonization objectives. We also partner with organizations to obtain federal and state funding for projects identified in a RESTART assessment.
RESTART collaborates with accredited Michigan universities and colleges that offer undergraduate engineering programs to recruit and place junior and senior engineering students in eligible businesses, helping to implement one or more recommendations from a RESTART assessment.
