
After spending the past year and a half as VP of Product & Programs, leading the Detroit innovation studios, Colleen started her own insight driven innovation and strategy practice, Orthogonal Thinking. Prior to that she was at Carhartt for 7 years leading product innovation efforts for the brand with time also spent working in insights and strategy. Her 25+ years of professional experience have spanned roles ranging from social justice research in academia, consulting with brands to develop innovative products and working at a leading automotive brand to re-define and develop relevant brand opportunities. In 2021 Colleen was named to Innovation Leader’s list of Top 25 Most Influential Innovators. Colleen is a social scientist with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sociology and additional advanced training in survey methodology and design thinking.
