David serves as an advisor to the Lawrence Technological University’s entrepreneurial incubator (LTU Centrepolis Accelerator) which is focused on bringing new products to market.
David is the founder of Integrated Additive Solutions where he serves as president and consultant. The company’s mission is to provide organizations with the clarity required to add tangible value using additive manufacturing. Through his partner network, his company also provides prototypes and tooling solutions based on practical application of additive manufacturing technologies.
Bolognino was previously the Director of Fabrication Operations for GM Global Design, which included responsibility for GM Design’s Mechanical Assembly, 3D printing lab and the metal, wood, plaster and paint shops. This talented workforce combined precision craftsmanship with cutting edge technology in its service to GM’s design centers around the world. In that role, more than 400 GM salaried and UAW represented GM employees who worked under Bolognino’s leadership range in disciplines of highly skilled craftsmen who create and finish concept cars, show cars, design models, 3D printed parts and components for prototype vehicles, as well as restoring and maintaining GM’s historic car collection.
During his 34 year career with GM, Bolognino has held various positions ranging from Vehicle Architectural Manager, Concept Vehicle Project Manager, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Vehicle Integration Engineer, Validation Engineer for GM’s first electric vehicle, Project Coordinator at GM Research and Development Laboratories, and as a Project Manager for GM Motorsports.
As a third-generation skilled trades autoworker, he is passionate about an apprenticeship program he guided to develop the next generation of metal, wood and paint tradesmen who played a vital role in the vehicle development process.
Bolognino earned his undergraduate degree in engineering at LTU and received a GM Fellowship to attend the University of Michigan where he earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is named on multiple US patents.
