The City of Southfield is proud to announce the grand opening of Centrepolis Accelerator’s very own state-of-the-art, 6,300-square-foot facility on the Lawrence Technological University campus. The new facility will be the headquarters for the Accelerator program—a program that helps physical products and advanced manufacturing innovators with reaching technical and business milestones, and getting their products to market.
The public is welcome to tour the space and meet the Accelerator team at the open house on October 4, from 12-4 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be available.
The event will include a tour of the Product Design & Prototyping lab, featuring 3D printers, a milling machine, metalworking equipment, scanning equipment, computer-aided design software, and Augmented & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) product development tools. There will also be an AR/VR Studio demonstration with Southfield High School students, in addition to project demonstrations from Lawrence Tech University students. Current Accelerator clients will also be presenting their products, so you can see Accelerator-backed products that have successfully gone to market.
Centrepolis Accelerator is especially suited for companies at specific stages in the product development cycle—companies with unique physical hardware products or advanced manufacturing processes, prototypes that are ready to launch or transition manufacturing to higher volumes, are encouraged to visit the new headquarters.
- Starting October 1, the Accelerator will offer the following on a month-to-month, 3-month, 6-month or 1-year basis:
- Office spaces, dedicated workspaces, and co-working spaces
- Product design & prototyping lab and mixed AR/VR Studio
- Peer learning, mentorship, and workshops for entrepreneurs
